Polygon Held, loose!

It was a bittersweet encounter on 22/02/2019 as Polygon Soccer academy played host to our rivals Gataka Homeboyz. In a previous encounter, Gataka had whitewashed Polygon by 12-2 at their turf which is a result Polygon needed to overturn. In the U-12 category, it was an evenly contested match as our young team showed alot of character from the beginning of the match. Polygon wasted lots of chances in the first half ; little did they know that they would live to regret the lost chances.  Gataka came back a rejuvenated side and were quite clinical on goal and missed very good chances. A lapse in concentration in the final 10 allowed Gataka to score the only goal in the match handing them a win away.

The U-14s was a very intense match as Gataka wanted to assert their dominance in this encounter. Gataka lost a penalty in the first minute of the match after a handball in the box by defender Monica. From then on, Polygon dominated the match and were 2 goals to the good at half time courtesy of prolific midfielder Hillary Bahati.

Gataka came back guns blazing and equalized within the first 10 mins of the second half. Elvis Mwirigi put Polygon ahead from a corner before Ring ensured a comfortable lead for Polygon.  Lapse in concentration in the last 5 minutes ensured Gataka were able to score 2 goals a d equalize to end the match in a draw.

It was a highly improved performance and we laud the Polygon team. The team will keep working hard to prepare for the next match.
