It was sweet revenge for the Polygon side as they comfortable beat the Parents/Friends tea 8-5 to exert their revenge after suffering a 7-4 loss in the previous encounter two weeks ago. It was the second fundraiser/charity match as parents and friends of Polygon Soccer academy met up at OleFrema Secondary school on 30/03/19 to enjoy a match and raise funds for the team to meet their financial needs. The friends team held its own in the first half and actually were leading 4-0 after the first stanza. All hell broke loose in the second as the Polygon team made relevant substitutions that changed the game completely. They outclasses the Parents’ team and ended up wining convincingly.
The Friends team was 60pc female in its composition with males comprising of the rest. We laud the women who showed tactical maturity and even scored some wonderful goals. The main striker though, Mrs Repha Ofula, was unfortunate not to find the back of the net.
We thank all the friends/parents who took time off to come play with the children and show their support for the team. We will be having another match two months from now. We appreciate all our stakeholders.
